ALOHA!

We drove down Saturday around noon with Chris & Jen and met up with some folks at C11. Then we went on another tour of some cool places as featured in TIKI ROADTRIP and the new "TIKI Magazine" Quarterly).  Here are  a few of the pix from that day..

Ok.. once the gang was all here, several of us (about 10) headed over to Bali Hai for dinner.. While we had had a drink and sampled the pu pu platter (which was still something worth getting!) we were dining here for the first time for dinner.. one of our dining companions, Peter was doing his own scouting for the Sunday evening C11 banquet.. 60 people in that one!  =) (hopefully they had a great meal as well).

we're here! Let's check out dinner at Bali Hai!  =)

after dinner we said our goodbyes to some of the folks.. as they were headed back for the C11 Fashion Show back at Convergence.  Then the 4 of us took Sean's car over to the RED LION Hanalei where we were able to get in and meet up with Eilis & Dana to see the tiki here and perhaps try their Mai Tai.. It was really packed as it turns out there was a GOLDEN EAGLES reunion and a couple very famous atronauts were the Guests of Honor.  Just the same, Sean was able to park in the way back.. and we slowly made our way through the lobby while we waited for the rest of our party to show.. This gave us ample time to take in all the TIKI goodness here.. Eventually we were all there and we had a wonderful drink and dessert at the restaurant there. They also had a sushi bar across the way.. We didn't try that but it's a good reason to come back some day in the future, to have full dinner and perhaps try the sushi.  =)

Let's check out some other TIKI places!

After we parted with Eilis, Dana, and Esther, we took Chris & Jen (and scary Teddy of course!) to a couple more of the Tiki like places that Shelter Island offers.. and that we had scoped out the previous daytrip (the 21st) Seeing these places up close at night was sure an experience.. We took several pictures.. Sean got another soda for the road and then we all piled into the car and headed back home to Anaheim.

So that was the end of our Tiki adventure.. There's still at least one more Tiki place that we have yet to visit and that would be Mr Tiki in the Gaslamp District (the touristy area of San Diego). Our Day was full and so we'll just save that last one for another day and another wonderful Tiki Roadtrip.. Besides! We want to go back to Bamboo 2 U and Tiki Too! (not to mention try dinner at Islands). Until then...
